as the Manager of Campus Services, then
was promoted to the Assistant Director of
Campus Services. About five years ago, I
moved back to Accounting as Assistant
Director. With each position, I met some
very extraordinary and talented people.
We built comradery and friendships that
will last forever. Throughout my longevity I was always volunteering for things.
I felt that if you want to understand the
full cycle of higher ed, you need to be a
part of the processes. This is why I joined
so many committees and was a part of
many pilot programs, such as Women’s
Leadership Committee, College Senate,
Leadership Academy, Social Justice
Academy, Data Application and Security
Oversight Committee, and Strategic
Planning, to name a few. I have seen a lot
of people come and go over the years, but
there has always been one common goal.
Success of our students has always been
a priority, no matter if you are an administrator, a professor, work in Accounting;
or a maintenance technician. There is
also a sense of acceptance, overcoming
challenges, and feeling appreciated. One
thing I focused on throughout my career:
“no man is an island,” as the saying goes.
I listened and learned with each position
and committee I participated in, I spread
the word and shared whatever knowledge
I had with others, and I worked with all
levels of the college community to create
some amazing paths for our students to
follow. I wish everyone the best of luck
in these trying times, and I look forward
to starting the next chapter of my life.
Robbin Haynes,
Director of Financial Aid
I began working at Ocean County College
in February of 2015. While I have dedicated 34 years to working in Financial
Aid, I am particularly proud of the positive
impact and compliance achievements we
have made during my tenure at OCC. It
has always been rewarding to know that
we successfully navigate the constantly
evolving policies and regulations set by
the Department of Education. As I reflect
on my time here, I would like to extend
my sincere gratitude. I want to especially
thank my Financial Aid team. They consistently work countless hours to ensure
our students receive the aid and service
they deserve, and their efforts, though
often unseen, are essential. My thanks
also go out to the IT Department; it has
been a pleasure collaborating with such
an amazing group who always ensures
Financial Aid has the necessary technological support. Finally, thank you to
the students. Serving them is the very
reason we are here. It has truly been a
pleasure to serve the OCC community.
Donna Carbone,
Assistant Director of Accounting Services
I started working for Ocean County
College in April 2009. I began my journey
as the Manager of Accounts Payable.
Several years later, I moved to Facilities
Anthony Hinsinger,
Grounds Worker/
Institutional Repair Worker I
Retiring March 1, 2026
Stan Hales,
Director, Barnegat Bay Partnership
Retiring April 1, 2026
Andrea Hrehovcik,
Administrative Assistant I, STEM
Retiring May 1, 2026
Rosita Cotto,
Human Resources Assistant
I started at OCC in January 1995 as an
Affirmative Action Temporary Employee
in Human Resources. I worked two
years in that position and another two
years as a reservist. After four years here,
I became employed full-time in 1999 in
the Nursing Department. I transferred
from the Nursing Department to Facilities
in 2006. After our furlough from COVID,
and upon my return to campus, I was
given the opportunity to be temporary in
Human Resources, where I gained a permanent position within the department
that I wanted to retire from, as it is where
I started. I gained two degrees and several certificates during my employment.
I served as president for the Supportive
Staff Association for many years. I taught
the past college president along with some
administrators how to dance to Spanish
music; I served as advisor for the SALSA
club and served as an Affirmative Action
Representative. I have been blessed with
the best faculty members during my education and kept that beautiful relationship. I have also met some very important
people here at OCC that have helped me
on my journey and who will forever have
a special place in my heart. It has been a
challenging but rewarding experience.
I learned that giving up was not an option
for me. I also learned that no one dictates
the outcome for an individual; it is what
the individual will do with what is presented to get the outcome one wants.
I plan on dedicating more to myself and
family while at the same time continuing to do some of the side work that I do.
