VOLLEYBALL
Finishes Second in the Nation
The Ocean County College men’s
volleyball team capped off an
extraordinary season, finishing
second in the country at the 2026
NJCAA Men’s Volleyball National
Championship in Glen Ellyn,
Illinois. Led by first-year head
coach Jose Rafael, the Vikings
captured the Garden State
Athletic Conference, Region 19
Championship, and NJCAA East
District A Championship in rapid
succession, defeating some of
the toughest teams in their level
before heading to nationals.
OCC closed out the season with
an outstanding 16-3 record.
The Vikings’ success was fueled
by outstanding individual performances throughout the year.
Student athletes James Baxes,
Daniel Brunke, and Abran Arrojo
were all named to the 2026 AllGarden State Athletic Conference
and All-Region 19 Teams at the
close of the regular season,
recognition that reflected the
talent driving OCC’s championship run. Congratulations
to the entire men’s volleyball
program on a remarkable year!
